About

Meet Luzita: Scholar, Researcher, and ADHD Advocate

I don’t just teach digital organization; I have spent my entire academic and professional career building these structures to support my own associative, ADHD brain.

My journey has required translating complex information into sustainable action. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Public Health (Health Policy and Management) from UNC-Chapel Hill, followed by two master’s degrees: an MHA (Health Administration) and an MSIS (Information Science). My academic leadership was honored with the Dean’s Achievement Award for the Best Master’s Paper (2024-2025), which focused on data equity and justice—work that reflects my deep commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

I am an author (contributing a textbook chapter on D&I for Human Resources in Healthcare, 2021) and a recognized speaker, having served as the Commencement Speaker at Durham Technical Community College. In my research, I coined the term “Social Determinants of Data,” illustrating how external factors define the quality of information we produce and consume—a principle I apply to personal digital ecosystems today.

As a Latina who has lived on five different continents, I bring a global, intersectional perspective to my work. My philosophy is rooted not just in theory, but in community; I actively volunteer as a facilitator for peer support groups serving twice-exceptional (2e) adults and women.

I built Positip because I know that for knowledge workers with non-linear brains, the “perfect” system doesn’t exist. The sustainable, high-functioning system does. I built Positip because I needed these systems to support my own ADHD brain.
